    This notice is being sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Act. BRP has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists on certain side-by-side models and is conducting a safety recall.

    Our records show that you own a potentially affected vehicle.
     

    Which models are involved?

    Certain serial numbers of model year 2017 Can-Am Maverick X3TM.
     

    What is the potential problem?

    On certain 2017 Can-Am Maverick X3 vehicles, the steering rack and pinion assembly may have been manufactured by our supplier with an improper amount of grease. In some circumstances, this situation may result in steering lock which could lead to injury or even death.

    Following an interim notice issued in April 2016, this notice is being sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Act and the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Act. BRP has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists on certain side-by-side models and is conducting a safety recall.

    Which models are involved?

    Model year 2013 Can-Am Commander™ equipped with Dynamic Power Steering (DPS).
     

    What is the potential problem?

    Steering coupling splines may strip on rack and pinion assembly. In some circumstances, this situation may result in a loss of steering control and possibly cause injuries or even death.

    FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT

    Dear Can-Am Off-Road® Owner,

    This notice is being sent in accordance with the requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Act, the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Act, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Environment Canada. BRP has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists on certain Can-Am DS 90 models and is conducting a safety recall. This is a safety-related as well as an emission-related recall.


    Which models are involved?

    Model Year 2015 and 2016 Can-AmTM DS 90TM and DS 90TMX.
     

    What is the potential problem?

    Some units were assembled with a defective fuel filter. The fuel filter can break and cause a fuel leak. Fuel vapor in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire and can potentially cause serious injuries.

    This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the United States Consumer Product Safety Act.


    Which items are involved?

    Children sweatshirt from age 2 to 12 identified to the brand Ski-Doo and Can-Am, in different models and colors.
     

    What is the potential problem?

    The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has determined that hoodies with a drawstring around the neck area pose a strangulation hazard to children. Drawstrings can become entangled or caught on playground slides, hand rails, school bus doors or other moving objects, posing a significant strangulation and/or entanglement hazard to children.

    LITHIUM-ON RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES FOR HEATED GLOVES DUE TO FIRE HAZARD

    Dear Ski-Doo® and Can-Am® Dealer,

    This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Act and other applicable laws. 

    In cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, BRP is conducting a voluntary safety recall on HEATED GLOVES (P/N 446248 and 446247) and 2 LITHIUM-ION RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES (P/N 488058) sold under the Ski-Doo or Can-Am brand. Our records indicate that you have purchased at least one of these products.
     

    Which items are involved?

    Heated gloves and 2 lithium-ion rechargeable batteries.
     

    What is the potential problem?

    While charging, the lithium-ion rechargeable battery packs can overheat and pose a fire hazard.

    Please discontinue use immediately.
