Looking for exhilaration

Aug, 14 2019

Thrill seekers and outdoor enthusiasts, this is the list for you! We’ve put together an overview of some of the most beautiful North American and international routes to ride. Whether you’re a fan of mountains, the seaside, or picturesque scenery, get on your Can-Am Spyder, and open your road!

1. San Juan Mountain Skyway, Colorado, United States

The road through the San Juan Mountains passes through what is possibly one of the most beautiful parts of the Rockies, with some peaks reaching over 4,000 metres in height. You’ll see lovely historic villages, ski resorts, and numerous national parks. And if you want even more, how about also crossing through vast canyons of red stones, river valleys, and natural thermal springs? Tempting, right?

2. Ruta 40, Argentina

Route 40 is the longest road in Argentina, and possibly one of the longest in the world. Its 5,301 km link Quiaca, on the border with Bolivia, and Cabo Virgenes, one of the southernmost points in the country. This legendary route runs alongside the Andes and crosses almost 20 national parks and historic sites. See the Strait of Magellan, the Argentina Wine Route, the Perito Moreno glacier, and Talampaya National Park, to name but a few of the fantastic sights on this route.

3. Road to the Isles, Newfoundland/Labrador, Canada

Route 340, also known as the Road to the Isles, offers you an authentic Newfoundland experience. The rugged and rocky coastline dives into the ocean, offering breathtaking scenery. And the icebergs! The road ends in the historic community of Twillingate, the Iceberg Capital of the World. From here, on the shores of the Atlantic coast, you can take a break while you gaze upon majestic whales swimming among the icebergs. Perfection!

4. Beartooth Highway, Wyoming, United States

Ready for adventure? The Beartooth Scenic Highway in Wyoming is the perfect place for you. With its steep slopes, a limited number of guardrails, and breathtaking views, you won’t be disappointed. The most diverse landscapes imaginable will pass before your eyes, going from vertiginous mountains to dense forests and rapids, until ultimately you’ll reach snow and the tundra. With a road like this, who needs a roller coaster!

5. South Island Route, New Zealand

New Zealand is world-renowned for its impressive nature. Cruise the South Island along the Pacific coast to the north. From Nelson, the landscapes become more and more stunning no matter which way you turn. And thanks to the superb quality of the roads and very little traffic in the area, you can just relax and enjoy the view.
