How to Safely Rinse Your Motorcycle
Start by giving your Can-Am a thorough rinse to remove loose dirt and debris. This step is crucial to prevent scratching the paint during the washing process. Use a hose with a gentle stream of water or a pressure washer on a low setting.
Tips for Using a Hose or Pressure Washer
- Keep the nozzle at least 12 inches away from the surface.
- Avoid direct spray on sensitive areas like the engine, electrical components, and bearings.
- Use a wide spray pattern to cover larger areas more effectively.
Washing the 3-Wheel Motorcycle Body
The Moto Foaming Wash is formulated to lift dirt and grime efficiently.
- Spray the foaming wash generously over the entire motorcycle.
- Let it sit for a few minutes to break down the grime.
- Use a soft sponge or microfiber cloth to gently scrub the surface.
- Rinse thoroughly with water to remove all soap residues.
Cleaning Specific Parts
Clean the 3-Wheel Motorcycle Chain
Regularly cleaning and lubricating your chain will extend its life and improve the performance of your 3 wheeler.
- Use a motorcycle stand to elevate the rear wheel, if available.
- Apply chain cleaner or degreaser to the chain and let it sit for a few minutes.
- Scrub the chain with a chain brush or old toothbrush.
- Rotate the rear wheel to clean the entire chain length.
- Rinse the chain with water using a hose.
- Dry the chain with rags or paper towels.
- Apply chain lubricant.
- Rotate the rear wheel to distribute the lubricant evenly.
- Wipe off any excess lubricant.
Wheels and Tires: Techniques and Products
The Road Grime Wash is especially helpful after rides in bad weather and or if you come into contact with mud. This spray will remove any stubborn dust or dirt from the road. With a brush scrub the wheels and tires. Pay attention to the grooves and spokes. Rinse thoroughly to remove all cleaner residue.
Engine: Precautions and Cleaning Methods
Cover sensitive areas with plastic bags to prevent water ingress. Use the All Purpose Cleaner and Degreaser and a brush to clean the engine. Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately to prevent rust.
Special Instructions For Matte Paint
If your Can-Am vehicle has a matte finish, you need to be careful: don’t use any wax, detail spray or other products formulated for regular paint. You should also avoid abrasive materials, mechanical cleaners or polishers, and scrubbing the vehicle too intensely, as these can ding or scratch matte surfaces.
Instead, hand-wash it using a clean microfiber cloth with a waterless cleanser like XPS Matte Finish.
Clear 3-Wheel Motorcycle Glasses; Clean the Bug Splats
Warm water works well to wash bugs off the windshield and front panels, but if you want to give those parts a seriously deep clean, we recommend using the Bug Cleaner.
- Spray the Bug Cleaner on the affected areas.
- Let it soak for a few minutes to soften the bug residues.
- Wipe off with a microfiber cloth or sponge.
- Repeat if necessary for stubborn spots.
Note: Do not apply a vinyl or plastic protector to the seats; the surfaces can become slippery and the operator or passenger may slip off the vehicle.
