Transport Canada Recall Number: 2025-362
Dear Can-Am® Vehicle Owner,
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. This is to inform you that your vehicle may contain a defect that could affect the safety of a person. BRP is conducting a safety recall.
Our records show that you own a potentially affected vehicle.
What is the potential problem?
The Drive Belt Lower Idler Support will fail and may cause a belt failure. This could result in a loss of drive power while driving and increase the risk of a crash.
Which models are involved?
Certain Model Year 2025 Can-Am Canyon vehicles
What will BRP do?
BRP will repair your vehicle at no charge to you (parts and labor) by replacing the Drive Belt Lower Idler Support. The procedure should take less than an hour.
Parts will be available starting July 16, 2025.
What should YOU do?
Schedule an appointment immediately with any authorized BRP Can-Am dealer to have safety recall repair performed on your vehicle. To find a dealer, see the end of this letter.
If you ride before the repair:
- Note that the Drive Belt Lower Idler Support failure will occur early in the life of your vehicle and most likely in the first season of use.
- There is no warning before the failure of the support. Some riders may hear intermittent noise after the support breaks.
- In the case of a loss of drive power, you will maintain steering and braking (including the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)), but you will not be able to maintain your speed. You will not have all the functionalities of the Vehicle Stability System (VSS).
If you leased this vehicle:
· Send a copy of this letter to the lessee within ten working days after the day you received this letter.
· Do the same with any future letters about this safety recall.
