SE5 Clutch sticking engaged

SE5 Clutch Sticking Engaged

Dear Can-Am On-Road® Dealer / Distributor,

This notice is being sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and MotorVehicle Safety Act, the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Act and other applicable laws. Bombardier  Recreational Products Inc. and BRP US Inc. (“BRP“) have decided that a defect exists on certain  Can-Am Spyder Roadster RS SE5 and RT SE5 models and are conducting a voluntary safety recall.

What is the potential problem?

When bringing a vehicle equipped with the SE5 semi-automatic transmission to a full stop, the clutch  may remain engaged stalling the engine. Once the engine is stalled, it could be impossible to re-start  and the rear wheel could be blocked. If this happens, it may be impracticable to push the vehicle off  the roadway increasing the risk of a crash possibly resulting in injury or death.

What should you do?

Call an authorized BRP Can-Am Spyder Roadster dealer and make an appointment to have your  vehicle repaired. We will update the centrifugal clutch assembly with new components. The dealer will perform this work at no charge to you.

What to do if you feel this notice is an error?

This notice was mailed to you according to the most current information we have available. If you no  longer own this vehicle or some information in this notice is incorrect, please contact BRP at your  earliest convenience.
