WHERE CAN YOU RIDE A CAN‑AM 3‑WHEEL MOTORCYCLE?

Can-Am Spyders and Can-Am Rykers are “freedom machines” that can generally be ridden on any public roads open to street vehicles. Road surfaces vary, so here's where you can ride your 3‑wheel motorcycle.

Your 3-wheel motorcycle is built for a range of roads

Riding on paved and graded dirt roads

Spyders and Rykers are not considered off-road vehicles because they have low ground clearance. Therefore, the places to ride your 3-wheel motorcycle are paved roads (concrete, asphalt) or graded dirt roads that have been smoothed over by a road grader.

Driving your 3-wheeler on gravel roads

You can ride a Can-Am Spyder gently and slowly on gravel roads, but it’s best to limit this type of use to avoid damaging the sprocket or belt drive.

Rykers are better suited for gravel roads because they feature a direct drive system. The Can-Am Ryker Rally Edition has a unique tire design that's especially great on gravel. This model can be used on graded and smooth gravel, and even dirt roads. While it's not an off-road machine, it does open up the world of smoother dirt and gravel roads in more remote, less populated areas.

Taking the highways and byways

When it comes to places to ride their 3-wheel motorcycles, many riders use their Spyder or Ryker on 4-lane highways, but most find their best riding opportunities on less-traveled 2-lane state and county roads.

Endless adventures await you on a 3-wheel motorcycle

Many of our riders seek out the more scenic back roads. Winding and twisting roads can also be more exciting and fun because the experience becomes more about riding and less about driving. That's the magical moment when Can-Am Spyders and Can-Am Rykers turn into your freedom machine for exploring the millions of miles of open roads across the continent.

So, never stop asking, "Where can I ride my 3-wheel motorcycle?" because there are infinite opportunities for a new adventure every day.
