Speed Limiter Mode Malfunction - Risk of Unexpected Deactivation

Re: Speed Limiter Mode Malfunction - Risk of Unexpected Deactivation

Dear Can-Am® Vehicle Owner,

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the Consumer Product Safety Act. BRP has decided that a defect related to motor vehicle safety exists in the following vehicles. As a result, BRP is conducting a safety recall.

Our records show that you own a potentially affected vehicle.

What is the potential problem?

When a speed limit is set using the Speed Limiter Mode, certain throttle lever sequences may override it. This differs from the deactivation method described in the Operator’s Guide. This can result in unexpected speed and acceleration, increasing the risk of loss of control and potentially causing serious injury or fatality.

Which models are involved?

●       MY25 and MY26 Can-Am Outlander 500 or 700 Pro packages equipped with Speed Limiter Mode

●       MY23 and MY24 Can-Am Outlander 500 or 700 Pro packages equipped with Speed Limiter Mode that received an Engine Control Module (ECM) software update at a dealership beginning February 3, 2026.

What will BRP do?

BRP will perform this recall at no charge to you (parts and labor).

The vehicle’s ECM software needs to be updated at the dealership. The procedure will take less than an hour.

What should YOU do?

Schedule an appointment immediately with any authorized BRP Can-Am® Off-road dealer to have the safety recall repair performed on your unit. To find a dealer, see the end of this letter.

In the meantime, you should not use the Speed Limiter Mode.

What to do if you feel you have received this notice by mistake?

If you know the current owner or operator, please forward this letter to them.

If there has been a change of ownership or you have a change of address, please notify BRP so we can update our records accordingly.
