Life-long desert racer known as “Monster Matt”
You can’t outrun this kind of experience. Racing in the desert since he was 4 years old, Matt Burroughs has long lived at full throttle. Nicknamed “Monster Matt”, he raced on two wheels before becoming one of the most feared competitors in the side-by-side class for Monster Energy Can-Am Racing. Rarely outside the top 10 and often fighting for podiums and wins wherever he competes, “Monster Matt” has more than 30 years of racing experience and isn’t about to let up any time soon.

BEST OFF-ROAD STORY
I became a factory Husqvarna desert race back in 2000. In 2003, we decided to race the Laughlin US Hare Scrambles Championship on a 125cc 2-stroke. At the time, TeamGreen Kawasaki and KTM were winning everything. We fought all day long at this incredibly tough race and were able to get the top spot on the box.
BIGGEST INSPIRATION
My wife for sure. She battled cancer a few years ago without letting off the gas.
