Rearview mirrors lenses may dislodge - Decreased visibility

Dear Can-Am® Vehicle Owner,

Following the previous notice issued in December 2023, this updated notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. BRP has decided that a defect related to motor vehicle safety exists in the following vehicles. As a result, BRP is conducting a safety recall. This updated notice is to inform you that the parts for the repair are now available.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Campaign ID Number 23V856. For Model Year 2023, this recall replaces the previous safety recall 23V053.

Our records show that you own a potentially affected vehicle.

What is the potential problem?

The rearview mirror lenses may dislodge from the housing. This can result in an increased risk of a crash due to the decreased visibility for the driver.

Which models are involved?

Certain Model Year 2023 Can-Am® Spyder F3 and F3-S vehicles

What will BRP do?

BRP will replace both of the mirror assemblies at no charge to you (parts and labor). The procedure should take less than an hour. Parts for the repair are now available.

Please Note: If your vehicle was part of the previous version of this safety recall and the mirror housing assemblies were only inspected, you will now need to have the mirror assemblies replaced. If you receive this letter, our records indicate that the mirror assemblies need to be replaced.

What should YOU do?

Schedule an appointment with any authorized BRP Can-Am dealer to have the safety recall repair performed on your vehicle. To find a dealer, see the end of this letter.

If you need to ride your vehicle before the repair, please proceed with the following steps before the ride:

  • Move each of the mirror lenses in the four axes until the end of the travel (left, right, up and down).

  • Adjust your mirrors.

  • Do not ride the vehicle, if a mirror lens has dislodged.

If you leased this vehicle:

  • Send a copy of this letter to the lessee within ten working days after the day you received this letter.

  • Do the same with any future letters about this safety recall.
